I don’t know what’s happened to fitted bedrooms. They were a significant part of MFI’s mass-market business, but when MFI went away, while others – especially the German brands – took up the slack in kitchens, nobody seems to have done the same for bedrooms. It’s taken for granted that kitchens will be fitted, but the same expectation for bedrooms has just faded away.

I do still design the occasional bedroom, and for a while, I had my own bedrooms business. That’s where these designs are from.
